Sometimes real estate is about more than just buying a home. It’s about a new chapter.

I recently helped a wonderful woman close on her condo here in Portland. At 80 years old, she packed up her life in San Diego, got in her car, and drove north because she had heard Portland was a beautiful place to live. Her dream was simple. She wanted to be near the forest with tall trees all around her.

Finding the right place turned out to be a little harder than she expected, but we kept looking until we found the one that felt right.

After 52 years of marriage and starting over in a city where she knew no one, her courage truly inspired me. She is one of the sweetest people I’ve met, and I feel lucky to have been part of her journey. We closed this week.
